Note: This service is relevant to non-urgent matters only. Urgent matters do not need an appointment.

  • Any documents that you intend to file, which should be in a presentable manner before the court and include correct stamp duty printed on the front page where applicable

Additional Information

Please note: Please allow for sufficient time before arriving for your appointment as the office will not be calling in late appointments. Ensure all relevant documents are signed, dated, and in order before attending, to progress your business as quickly as possible.

Walk-up Service

  • The Central Office of the High Court provides a walk-up service for customers attending the office without an appointment
  • To avail of this service, fill in your details in the Walk-Up Register (located on the desk in the reception area)
  • You will then be allocated any cancelled or missed booked appointments, as they arise
  • The system will operate on a first come first served basis and the regular time slots will apply (10 minutes/5min depending on availability)
  • Between the hours of 1.00pm and 1.45pm the office will operate a walk-up system exclusively
  • Customers who have booked an appointment in advance continue to be prioritised (except from 1.00pm -1.45pm)
  • Please note: This service does not apply to Deed Poll or Judgments Section

    • This initiative is part of a suite of measures to improve customer experience and we would ask for your continued cooperation and patience as we implement this system.

Access to this Service

  • If you are applying for a domestic violence order, you must reside within the Dublin Metropolitan District (DMD).
  • For other services, you or the other person must be ordinarily residing or carrying out business/profession in Dublin in order to apply through the Dublin District Family Law Office.
  • If you have Family Law proceedings in any other Court, you cannot make any other applications in a different Court Service Office (with the exception of domestic violence).
  • If you currently have proceedings in the Family Law Courts, please ensure that you bring your Case Reference number to your appointment.
