Meeting with EU Commissioner McGrath

On 4 April, Chief Justice O’Donnell was pleased to welcome Michael McGrath, European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law, to the Four Courts for a meeting.

The Chief Justice and Commissioner McGrath discussed matters of mutual interest, including judicial training and the Irish Judiciary's involvement in the European Judicial Training Network. They also discussed recommendations of the Commission's Rule of Law report in respect of Ireland, in addition to the rule of law in Europe more widely.
