CJEU Conference on Artificial Intelligence

On 2 May, the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Donal O'Donnell, moderated a working session on the topic of 'artificial intelligence to support judicial activity' at the Court of Justice of the European Union organised as part of its Meeting of Judges. Co-chaired by Advocate General Tamara Ćapeta, the session examined both the transformative potential and challenges in utilising artificial intelligence within judicial processes, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations and responsible use in the legal field.

The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the enlargement of the membership of the European Union which took place in 2004.
