First Lecture of Hardiman Series 2024
On 11 June, the first
instalment in this year's Hardiman Lecture Series took place in the Supreme
Court.
The lecture, which was chaired by Mr Justice Gerard Hogan of the
Supreme Court, involved an engaging discussion with Orla O'Donnell, Legal
Affairs Correspondent for RTÉ News, and Mary Carolan, Legal Affairs
Correspondent for The Irish Times, on 'the legal challenges facing journalism
today'.
The Hardiman Lecture Series was named in honour of the late Mr
Justice Adrian Hardiman following his sudden passing in 2016. Mr Justice
Hardiman had been a series participant every year since its inception in 2013
alongside the establishment of the Chief Justice's Summer Placement Programme
for Law Students under the Chief Justiceship of Ms Justice Susan Denham.
