Visiting Delegation of Judges from Republic of Korea

On Wednesday, 16 April, the Supreme Court welcomed a delegation of three judges from the Republic of Korea to the Four Courts.
After a tour of the Four Courts complex, Justice Shin, Judge Baik, and Judge Shin met with Ms Justice Donnelly, Mr Justice Charleton, President Barniville and Ms Justice Roberts of the High Court to discuss matters of mutual interest, including the increasing use of artificial intelligence in the legal field and obtaining and utilising digital and virtual evidence in criminal trials.
The visiting delegation also met with the Judicial Studies Committee of the Judicial Council in the afternoon. Ms Justice Mary-Rose Gearty, Ms Justice Marguerite Bolger and His Honour Judge Geoffrey Shannon joined Ms Maria Fitzgerald to discuss methods of delivering judicial training with a focus on training related to gender equality, discrimination and unconscious bias.
