Opening of the Legal Year 2024

On Monday 7 October, the judiciary, in partnership with the Courts Service, hosted an event in the Four Courts to officially mark the opening of the new legal year 2024-25. Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne, judge of the Supreme Court and Chair of the Board of the Courts Service, opened the ceremony, and Mr Justice Donal O’Donnell, Chief Justice, delivered the keynote address.

Guests at the event included members of the judiciary from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England and Wales, members of the practising professions, members of the Courts Service, representatives from the Department of Justice and representatives from other key stakeholders in Ireland’s justice system.
