Opening of the New Legal Year 2023/24

Today, 2 October, we were delighted to welcome colleagues and guests, from Ireland and abroad, to the Four Courts to celebrate the opening of the new legal year 2023/24. For the first time, the judiciary, in partnership with the Courts Service, hosted a ceremony in the Round Hall to formally mark the occasion.

The event involved a performance by the Courts Service Choir and a number of speeches which were delivered by Rossa Fanning SC, Attorney General; Angela Denning, CEO of the Courts Service; and Mr Justice Donal O'Donnell, Chief Justice. The ceremony can be viewed in full here.
