Mr Justice Charleton speaks at Intellectual Property Conference, Fordham Law, New York

On 25 April, Mr Justice Charleton spoke at the 32nd Annual Intellectual Property Conference which was hosted over two days at Fordham Law School in New York. The conference gathered practitioners, academics, and experts from around the world to discuss current issues in the fields of patent law, copyright, and trademark law such as the potential impact of AI on the area as well as the interaction between intellectual property and free speech.
Mr Justice Charleton participated in a panel discussion which sought insight from judicial decision-makers on the modern developments and perspectives in the field. There were thirteen other judicial participants from national and international courts, including jurisdictions of the UK, Germany, France, Korea, Australia and the Hague on the panel. Mr Justice Charleton also spoke at the panel on ‘Recent Developments in Patent Law’, specifically addressing supplementary protection certificates.
