Supreme Court welcomes delegation from Thai Courts of Justice

On Wednesday 18 June, the Supreme Court welcomed to the Four Courts a delegation of judges from Thailand as part of a trip to visit the University of Galway. The visiting Judges had an opportunity to observe the Supreme Court at hearing in order to understand how the Irish courts and judiciary carry out the day-to-day work of the Court. They also had a tour of the Four Courts complex and learned about the history of the seat of the administration of justice in Ireland.
The delegation was made up of Judge Charoenwong, Secretary-General of Office of the Judiciary of Thailand, Judge Ariyapachpol, Appeal Court Justice of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court, and Judge Kamonchanok, Judge of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court and Executive Director of the Thai Arbitration Institute. They were further joined by Dr Naporn Popattanachai and Dr Rónán Kennedy from the Law School of the University of Galway who facilitated the visit.
