Where to make your civil restraining order application

Where to make your application

To make a civil restraining order application you must go to the District Court office for the court area where you or the respondent currently live. If you have had to move from your normal address due to the behaviour of the respondent, you can still make your application in the court area where you would normally live.

If you are making your civil restraining order application in Dublin, you must make your application at the Civil Office in the Áras Uí Dhálaigh building in the Four Courts complex. You can visit our virtual tour to better understand where to go, click the Áras Uí Dhálaigh tab to view the Dublin civil office.

If you are unsure, contact the court office in advance for assistance
