Where to make your application
To make your small claims application you will need to find your relevant court office.
Once you have found your relevant court office, you will also need to find the District Court area and number to complete your application. Please follow the steps below to find this information:
Find where to make your claim
Decide where to make your claim based on:
- Where the registered business address of the respondent is (this can be where they live).
- Where the contract (purchase) was made.
- Where the damage to property took place.
If your purchase was made online, you will need to find the registered address of the respondent (company or business) to find your relevant court office.
Find your district court area and number
- Go to the map of District Court areas, select the 'District Court Districts' and the 'District Court Areas' layers in the menu on the left panel or lower panel of the screen so that the 'eye' is visible and unchecked on these two layers only.
- Use the search bar (magnifying glass) in the top right corner to search. Enter the address or Eircode of the person or business here and hit the search button and shortly after the result will show as a small black dot on the screen.
- You need to click on the dot and use the navigation arrows on the lower left of the screen to find the relevant District Court area, number, and the supporting court office. This information will appear on the left panel.
