Your 'old name' must read exactly as per your birth certificate. This includes any middle names.
What 'old name' to use on your Deed Poll
Your 'old name' must reflect the name you are currently using. Any documents that support your previous name change must be included (i.e. a marriage certificate or a previous Deed Poll).
Enrolling a Deed Poll if you don't reside in the Republic of Ireland
You must be permanently residing in the Republic of Ireland to enrol a Deed Poll in the Central Office of the High Court.
Length of the process of enrolling a Deed Poll
In general, each Deed Poll has a turnaround time of approximately 6-8 weeks. This time-frame will be extended by an additional 6-8 weeks where further information or action is needed.
Getting a copy of a Deed Poll
Copies of enrolled Deed Polls may be requested by email. Please note that copies are available by collection in person only.
